Terms of service
Plain-language terms. Where these and common sense disagree, tell us and we'll fix the terms.
The award
Meritly awards are determined by testing a business's public Google rating and review count against our published standard (currently 4.5 stars across 30+ reviews). The award is a statement about that public record at the time of the check, not an endorsement, inspection, or guarantee of any business's products or services.
The data
Rating data is read from Google's public interfaces at the moment you run a check. We don't control it, and it can change. If a business's record later falls below the standard, previously issued awards remain valid for their stated year.
No affiliation with Google
Meritly is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Google LLC or any of its affiliates. Google, Google Maps and Google Reviews are trademarks of Google LLC. We refer to them only to identify the public data Meritly reads. A Meritly award is issued by Meritly alone. It is not a Google award, not a Google certification, and carries no recognition from Google of any kind.
The seal
Qualifying businesses may display the Meritly Verified seal on their own websites, windows, and materials, for the awarded year. The seal may not be altered, transferred to another business, or displayed by businesses that have not qualified.
Purchases
Physical products are governed by the refund policy. Prices are in US dollars. We may decline or refund any order at our discretion, including where a business's review record appears manipulated.
Honest-data clause
If we conclude a business qualified through purchased or fabricated reviews, we may revoke the award and remove any records of it.
Liability
Meritly's total liability for anything arising from an award or purchase is capped at the amount you paid us.
